Help us complete your work on time

Tl;dr:

Avoid common case delays by following this checklist when sending lab work.

By far the most common cause of delayed lab work is incomplete prescription data. Whether you’re sending a digital scan or an analogue impression with accompanying paper docket, our team are working hard to get your cases back ahead of the fit appointments. But if we’re missing key information like a shade or material type, we’re unable to get started.

We know the dental practice is an incredibly demanding environment, so we’ve put together a quick checklist for your team to double-check all instructions are present before sending your next case in. If you’re able follow the checklist before sending work in, it could help us get your cases back faster.

Here’s what we need to see on your prescription:

  • Dentist Name & Practice
  • Address Case Standard (Economy, Premium or Premium+)
  • Shade Restoration Type
  • Material

Sending a scanned impression?

  • Ensure there are no foreign objects obscuring the scan (e.g. cheek, tongue)
  • Check for data holes, particularly around the prep and adjacent teeth
  • Make sure the bite is in occlusion

Remember, some intraoral scanners only allow you to choose from a pre-determined list of materials (e.g. Maryland Bridges are often locked to PFM and don’t allow Zirconia). In these cases, please add any extra information to the Notes section.

Our turnaround times are based on having full instructions in hand when receiving impressions. If data is missing, the case is put on hold and only assigned a production slot and due date once all details are provided. You can check case status and tracking over at CosTech Portal.

If you have any questions about our turnaround times or any other matter, please contact our team on [email protected].
