Grass roots
CosTech was founded in 1977 by Mohan Photay, a lone technician working with his dentist wife Diane, her associates and some local dentists. Mohan’s consistent quality, competitive price and friendly attitude made him very popular, and he had to take on more technicians to keep up with demand. In 2004, Mohan and Diane invited their technician son Neil and the current head ceramist, David to join them in leading the team as company directors.
Over 40 years on, that core family team is still running CosTech today and receiving work from many of the original clients. There are fewer sideburn haircuts and more computers than Mohan remembers, but the principles remain the same. We still treat every new client with the same care and attention that made CosTech such a success. Neil grew up immersed in both clinical and technical fields of dentistry, giving a unique perspective of the dental world. After completing a degree in Computer Science, he returned to the lab, bringing new technologies and ideas.
